Biography

I worked for 6 years as French and German teacher and then second in MFL department at 2 secondary schools teaching pupils from 11 to 18. I acted as subject mentor for a number of MFL MMU trainees. In 1999 I joined the MFL team at MMU as German tutor. She also taught French to Post graduates and Core English to Undergraduates. As well as being instrumental in introducing MFL to primary PGCE at MMU I also worked along Professional mentors in her role as link tutor, taught CPD for teachers enrolled on MA courses at MMU and also spoke at a number of national conferences. In 2004 I returned for a period of 2 year to teach in Secondary schools, widening her repertoire by acting as professional mentor, NQT co-ordinator and also primary MFL teacher for partnership schools. In 2006 I came back on a part time basis to teach French to both Post and Undergraduates. At the same I worked for Manchester Authority training primary teachers to teach MFL.

At the end of one year I returned to full time employment in 2007 and subsequently took on the role of MFL Subject Co-ordinator for Secondary PGCE.

I mainly teach on the Secondary PGCE and CPD.

My research, academic enterprise interests include MA in Bilingualism and research papers on Intercultural Understanding, Technology in Language Learning and conference papers on Mentoring.

I supervises a number of final year dissertation students.

I have been instrumental in the setting up of a secondary French Exchange with IUFM Tours-Orléans, funded by TDA.
