My profile

Biography

I am Chris and I am a lecturer in adult nursing new to the team at Manchester Metropolitan University.

I have been an infection prevention nurse for the past 9 years working across both acute and community services in Greater Manchester and Derbyshire in support of care homes and primary care teams, working closely with colleagues in public health and education.

During 2021/22 I undertook a 6-month secondment as an associate lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University delivering clinical skills to undergraduate students. I have also recently worked in the private sector in support of infection prevention teams in the NHS in the use of clinical surveillance software and advising on Infection prevention workflows.

I am currently an antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) expert for a 3-year period with the British Society of antimicrobial chemotherapy and included in the GAMSAS register of accredited experts and a member of the infection Prevention Society.

I am looking forward to the next phase of my career and look forward to welcoming you to MMU.
