Biography
Academic and professional qualifications
I graduated with a BSc (Hons) in psychology in 2004 and obtained a PhD from the University of Huddersfield in 2012. The doctoral thesis investigated the erotic experience of consensual bondage, discipline, dominance & submission and sadism & masochism (BDSM).

I am interested in qualitative research methods, especially phenomenological psychology and experiential research, and the use of innovative data collection techniques. I have a broad range of inter-disciplinary research interests, and other specialist areas of interest include gender, LGBTQI+ psychology, sexualities, wellbeing and women’s health.
