Biography
Academic and Professional Qualifications
Mandu is a Senior lecturer on the MPH Global Health Programme at Manchester Metropolitan University. She received a BSc in Medical Physiology from the University of PortHarcourt and an MPH in Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health from the University of Ibadan, all in Nigeria. Dr Mandu received her Doctoral Degree in Public Health and Epidemiology, with specialisation in Maternal and Child Health, from the University of Wolverhampton.
My research interest and career are focused on improving the health and well-being of mothers and children, through designing interventions that address components of the health systems, community, and individual factors to improve health outcomes, especially in populations with the most need. Mandu is also interested in Social Epidemiology, sexual and reproductive health, health inequalities, healthcare access, Global Health, and Non-communicable Diseases. My research portfolio is mixed methods. My teaching focus is on Evidence-based Global Public Health, Climate Change and Sustainability.
