Biography

I had 20 years of experience working in secondary schools in a variety of roles, before joining MMU in September 2000.

Since 2004, I have worked extensively on the development of a classroom approach to mathematics teaching based upon Realistic Maths Education (RME). This has taken the form of a number of research projects and CPD for teachers, and co-authoring of the Making Sense of Maths books published by Hodder.

I teach on the maths PGCE programme, the Maths Enhancement Courses and the Masters programme and am subject co-ordinator for the Mathematics PGCE Programme.
