Rachel Parry

Before joining the Primary Partnership Team at MMU in 2022, I worked at a wide range of educational establishments for over 26 years including nursery, junior and primary schools plus home secondary tutoring. I’ve taught in triple parallel classes and mixed Key Stage classes, giving me an exceptional insight as to the adaptability a class teacher may need to develop. Most recently I was Headteacher at a small primary school which meant wearing many hats such as SENCO, Curriculum Lead, Safeguarding Lead and Assessment Lead. 

My role as an MMU Partnership Tutor is divided in to three parts: supporting trainee teachers on their placements, delivering training to school mentors and working with the partnership schools.   

I am an advocate of nurturing the whole child, motivating children to inspire their own learning and using the natural environment as a teaching toolkit.
