My profile

Biography

I joined the Department in 2017 as a Programme Support Tutor bringing with me 11 years of teaching experience. I very much enjoy working with students and helping them to engage with their learning and for them to realise their best version of themselves as graduates in the making. I support all students, although I work mainly with MSc students in the Department.

I am also Co-Lead of the Psychology Department Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team

Teaching

Why do I teach?

‘I teach because there is an excitement and joy and suspense in the journey’ Rebecca Alder

I love to learn and I think this is the main driving factor why I love my job. My aim is to help students understand themselves and the world they are in through Psychology, which in turn helps me to explore the subject more deeply, therefore I am always learning too! I love the challenge of helping students to become engaged with the process of their own learning so it is meaningful rather than a means to an end.

I feel very humbled at being in a position to make a difference to each individual student I support.
