Since the closure of the Alsager Campus, Manchester Met has appointed David Wilson Homes North West to redevelop the land for residential use.

In November 2015, DWH North West submit a full planning application to build 408 homes on the site. The application, which will be considered by Cheshire East Council, follows a comprehensive pre-application consultation process involving public exhibitions, Sport England, local sports groups, local residents and Councillors.

As part of the scheme, DWH is providing extensive sporting facilities for the local community. The vision is to create a high quality, urban extension that helps to meet the housing needs of Cheshire East.

Development of the site will represent an efficient use of land with high quality design creating a genuine community and an attractive environment with a strong sense of place.

The proposed development has been very carefully thought through to ensure that it delivers not only a good choice of high quality homes in a sought after area, but will make a significant economic contribution in Cheshire East.
