About my career

Manchester Met’s Graduate Diploma in English and Hong Kong Law and top-up Bachelor of Laws has a long proven track record of being a pathway to the Postgraduate Certificate in Laws (PCLL) and have nurtured thousands of legal practitioners in Hong Kong.

I am a solicitor working in Tsang, Chan & Woo Solicitors & Notaries. My practice involves both civil and criminal works. My practice in civil matters includes adverse possession, building management matters, landlord and tenant disputes, trusts, insolvency, company law, shareholders’ disputes, family law, contractual disputes, defamation, employment law, probate matters, water seepage cases, employee compensation claims and personal injuries litigation. My experience in the criminal area includes industrial summonses, traffic offences and other crimes.

The skills I gained from Manchester Met and which I use most in my career are multi-tasking and time-management skills. As a solicitor, I am required to handle various cases across different areas. I need to prioritise my work and complete all work by respective deadlines.

My top tip for students

Be meticulous and always double or even triple-check your work. This habit can save you from careless mistakes to major errors.

What I loved about my time at Manchester Met

I met some lifelong friends with whom I still talk about our cases and brainstorm from time to time.
