ABOUT MY CAREER

I wanted to study in an English-speaking country, and I loved the tradition, the culture and the people in the UK, especially in Manchester. I think the UK has something that no other country has. Among a lot of cities, I chose Manchester for the fun, the love, the people and the football vibes. And based on my degree programme, Manchester Met was the best option.

I chose my programme because it came with a placement that gave me enough time to blend in the working culture and really sharpen my skills practically. It was the best time!

After graduating, I started a travel tech start up in the UK and lately I have moved back to Vietnam to expand and develop it. As the founder and CEO of my company, I manage 13 other people and many departments. The skills I have used most in my career so far are communication skills, management skills and teamwork. These are very important skills in my line of work.

Since graduating, I gained a scholarship with One League (curriculum by Harvard Business School and Stanford University). I love learning new skills from people and I continue to attend classes online and offline.

MY TOP TIP FOR STUDENTS IS

My top tip is to create your own company, find what you care about and start up. I achieved this after nearly 10 years working for other companies so spread yourself to experience as many roles as possible. Don’t be afraid to start from the bottom over and over again.

WHY I LOVE MANCHESTER MET

My friends, the library, Piccadilly Gardens and the dances at the union. I loved and lived every bit of it.
