The four year Degree Apprenticeship in Digital & Technology Solutions is an industry driven approach, where you work full-time at some of the country's leading employers and innovative SMEs, while studying towards a fully accredited Digital & Technology Solutions Degree with Manchester Metropolitan University.
You should earn a minimum starting salary of £12,000 per year and receive all the additional benefits that come with working in a digital or technology firm.
The apprenticeship combines workplace training with a programme of education designed to meet your career ambitions. You will study a core curriculum, focused on IT in business and includes a blend of technology, business and project skills. In addition to this and with the guidance of your employer, you will have the opportunity to choose between an IT Consultant, Software Engineer, Data Analyst or Cyber Security Analyst pathway. The core units include the following topics:

Development projects will be carried out in the third and fourth years of the course.
Optional units may include: UX/HCI, Digital & Social Media, CRM, Mobile Applications Development, Enterprise Computing, Advanced Web Development, Information Systems Strategy and Business Process Modelling.
As well as the academic units, the apprenticeship includes sessions on communication, presentation and team working skills, to help you become a confident digital and technology practitioner.
Upon successful completion of the course you'll achieve a BSc (Hons) in Digital & Technology Solutions. Your final degree award will also reflect the pathway you chose to study for example BSc (Hons) in Digital & Technology Solutions (Software Engineer).

Manchester Metropolitan University are currently discussing Digital & Technology Solutions Apprenticeship opportunities with a number of other employers.
Candidates wanting to enrol on the Degree Apprenticeship should have Maths and English GCSE grade A-C or equivalent, and a minimum of 104-112 points at A2 (Grades BCC) or acceptable alternatives. These include: BTEC Subsidiary Diploma, Extended Diploma at Level 3, BTEC Diploma in Information Technology, Science or an Advanced Apprenticeship in a related subject.
We understand that people often come to study an apprenticeship as a way of returning to education. Therefore we also offer a non-standard entry route for people who do not meet the qualification requirements, but who have relevant work experience.

You could be working a variety of roles in a wide variety of contexts, from a digital agency in Manchester or Salford Media City to large banks, councils or multinational blue chip organisations. Your precise role will depend on the skills an employer is looking for, but this could vary from a technical role as a software engineer to a role building the skills necessary to manage IT projects.
We envisage that most apprentices will be retained by their employer following successful completion of the Degree Apprenticeship.
However, by completing the BSc in Digital & Technology Solutions you will develop a highly in demand skill set and should also have lots of opportunities for further study, should this be your preferred option
Recruitment can take place at any point during the year so it is very important to keep an eye on the latest vacancies and register your interest with us. The programme starts in September each year, with a week long induction followed by approximately one day per week during term-time.
