MANCHESTER Metropolitan has greatly enhanced its reputation in Education, Anatomy & Physiology, according to market research by The Independent newspaper.

MMU is challenging the traditional universities with its Institute of Education ranked 16th and Anatomy & Physiology 17th.

MMU's known strengths in sport, technology, design, information management, food science and hospitality have also been maintained, according to The Complete University Guide in today's Independent.

The top subject at MMU is still Library and Information Management, rated 9th best in the country, with Architecture closely behind at 11th, a credit to quality and standards in the Manchester School of Architecture*.

Other Top 20 subjects run by MMU are:

Food Science – 13th in UK
Hospitality Management – 15th in UK
Sport Science – 15th in UK
Town & Country Planning and Landscape – 17th in UK
Materials Technology – 18th in UK
