MMU has been recognised as an 'Investor in People'.
Achieving the IiP standard recognises the University's good practice in people management and development, and puts MMU among a minority of universities who hold the award across the entire institution.
Assessors were impressed with staff focus on student experience, and found that the majority of people feel their contributions are recognised by their teams, line managers and students.
They also praised the strong MMU culture of fairness and equality, stating it is much stronger than most other organisations they have worked with and there are no barriers to learning and development.
Gill Hemus, Director of Human Resources at MMU, said: "I am delighted that the University has achieved full corporate IiP recognition and would like to thank all the staff and managers whose hard work led to our success.
"The standard reflects excellence in the development and management of our people and with the achievement of the award we have reached a significant milestone.
"I am confident with the support of our staff, managers and recognised trade unions that we will continue to build upon our success."
Investors in People (IiP) is a voluntary assessment scheme backed by the UK Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills.
More than 300 staff talked to assessors about what it is like to work at MMU providing feedback on what we are good at and the areas where we still need to make changes and improvements.
The scheme was coordinated internally by Josie Moores, Head of Organisation Development and Training and by Jackie Bailey, Investors in People Project Manager.
Jackie said: "Working towards IiP has helped bring staff together to share best practice and improve consistency across a large and complex organisation.
"Many people have been involved and have helped to bring about improvements for staff in a time of considerable change and so to achieve this is a reflection of everyone's hard work."
More detailed information about the assessors findings will be made available via Organisation Development and Training and through individual reports for each faculty and central division.
