Re-enrol on postgraduate courses

POSTGRADUATE study could be more affordable than you think, thanks to the new Loyalty Discount Scheme from Manchester Metropolitan University.

MMU graduates who re-enrol for postgraduate study in September can apply for a 10% reduction in fees on full time and part-time courses*.

EU graduates are eligible for the same discount, while international students (outside the EU) can save £1,000 in fees.

Past graduates (Alumni) and students who receive external sponsorship are also eligible.

MMU currently has around 5,000 postgraduate students, mostly on taught one-year courses such as health care, law, business and management and art & design.

Investing in future

Emma Leech, Director of Marketing, Communications and Development, said: "We are delighted to launch this loyalty scheme which recognises the investment our students make in their education, and shows that their University is prepared to invest in them as well."

The downturn in the job market has made postgraduate study an increasingly popular option. Last year 22.7% of MMU graduates undertook some form of further study after graduation day.

According to the Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR), higher-level skills will give graduates an edge in the job market, but they also say it is important for students to be clear and focused about further study.

Carl Gilleard of AGR says: "Further study needs to supplement graduate skills, and ideally enhance a university leaver’s professional, business or management awareness."

*A limited number of courses will be exempt, including the PGCE. The Graduate Diploma in Law offers a flat £500 discount.

More details of your postgraduate discount and how to apply will be appearing on the postgraduate study pages here.
