TRAINEE accountants now have more reasons to choose Manchester Metropolitan University after we retained our Platinum provider status.

The status awarded by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) – is the top grade awarded and currently held by only a handful of UK providers.

Platinum awards recognise a provider’s high pass rate, quality of staff and student experience.

Manchester Metropolitan University currently has 250 part-time students working towards ACCA qualifications at its Business School.

Outstanding

Professor Ruth Ashford, Dean of the Business School said: “It is excellent to be informed that our Accounting and Finance Division has met the Platinum pass rate targets for the 2010 session. This continues the excellent performance previously demonstrated by Graham Holt and his team.

“We are the only university in the North West with Platinum status and one of very few in the UK.”

ACCA rates all its providers worldwide according to performance relating to student support and advice and induction.

The ACCA qualification covers 14 papers each with up to 40 hours of contact time. To qualify as an ACCA Associate you must pass the examinations and have three years’ approved accountancy experience. This may be obtained during or after the exams.

Technology

The Business School offers a blend of traditional teaching and new media learning, with access to state-of-the-art library and information technology facilities.
