MMU is offering its 4,500 staff free health checks as part of a drive to fight the flab.

Free body mass indexing is on offer along with hip-to-waist measures and free height and weight checks. Blood pressure will also be checked free of charge.

Staff can also have their cholesterol*, haemoglobin and blood glucose** levels checked for a small fee.

Along with each test participants will receive an information sheet with their results on.

Just 5 minutes

Health checks are available from Monday 21 May to Wednesday 23 May from 10am to 5pm and will take place in room 301 of the Geoffrey Manton Building on Oxford Road.

Appointments are not required, colleagues are asked drop in for 5 minutes whenever it suits but should try to avoid "peak" times if possible.

The check-up are being run as part of MMU’s staff Health Plan called Go5 which is promoting the use of MMU sports facilities, organising lunchtime walks and the use of stairs in place of lifts.

If you would like more information please contact go5@mmu.ac.uk or MMU’s Head of Sport, James Crowley. Tel 0161 247 1983 j.d.crowley@mmu.ac.uk.
