The professional and commercial department works with colleagues across the faculty on a range of professionally led activitry including supporting our relationships with industry, and planning and managing a wide range of commercial provision.
The department deliveres a number of management development programmes that are available for professionals at different stages in their career. Professional programmes include the part-time postgraduate provision within the school, professional accountancy qualifications and a range of bespoke business training.
Commercial programmes are provided for corporate clients and can be accredited or non- accredited. Current clients include Tesco, Asda, Bank of New York Mellon, JD Sports Fashion, McDonalds and CIMA. We also work in partnership with a range of carefully selected academic partners to deliver programmes in digital marketing, multichannel retailing, taxation and the pioneering Masters of Sport Directorship.
The department is the business development arm of the Faculty and provides a range of support services that are the focus of enterprise and research expertise. We work very closely with the Centre for Enterprise to develop strong connections with regional, national and international business and other types of organisation to ensure a two-way relationship. We support development of accredited and non-accredited courses, work-based learning, student projects, internships and placements, joint research and innovation projects and other funded projects.
