Eileen Seaston is your international student support officer for the Faculty of Business and Law.
Eileen can provide advice and support on a wide range of issues relevant to international students.
She is there to support you with any pastoral care and is a dedicated point of contact if you encounter any problems you experience at University and with living in a foreign country.
Eileen is happy to answer questions from international students about any issues affecting them and to help support you as you settle into life in Manchester and the Faculty of Business and Law.
She is happy to try and help with any issues including:
Registering with a doctor
Obtaining a Schengen visa
Meeting other students from your home country
Integrating with other students
Information on International Society
Providing letters confirming your student status if you need to travel
Advice on opening a UK Bank Account
Inviting family and friends to visit
Advising on completion of exceptional circumstances forms and academic appeals forms
Adapting to life in a different country can be challenging and many students will experience a period of transition whilst they adapt, known as “culture shock”. This can be exacerbated when you are away from your natural support systems, such as friends and family.
If you are an international student feeling homesick or just a bit overwhelmed by the whole experience then come and have a chat in a totally confidential, friendly atmosphere.
