My profile

Biography

I am a lecturer in Statistics/Data science (or Assistant Professor as known in some other higher education’s institutes). I have spent all my scientific life in Statistics: I have a BSc in Statistics; I am graduated with a MSc degree in Mathematical Statistics from Iran, and I got my PhD in Statistics in Italy.

My main research interests are robust standard errors in generalised linear models and generalised mixed-effect models, and more broadly, statistical inference problems. I have made some new interest on statistical inferences by p-values to modify it to be more rational and less misleading.  In addition, I work on improving machine learning algorithms in generic statistical point of view which broadly is known as classification problems, with a focus on human data. I have extensive experience in designing statistical analysis for studies in public health and social care including clinical trials and co-designing research studies to develop health interventions. I have been sitting in National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) MedConnect North and Research Design Service (RDS) panels to provides specialist advise for MedTech industries and research studies.

I am accepting new potential PhD students as “PhD studentship”, please get in touch if you are interested, and we plan for a research proposal together to get it funded to cover the PhD studentship.
