The Faculty offers over 60 innovative undergraduate, postgraduate and professional courses across a range of academic disciplines.

Many of our courses are approved, accredited and recognised by professional bodies and develop the skills, theory and practical skills required for professional practice and developing successful careers as teachers, early years practitioners and youth and community workers.

Others provide broader insights into learning and development in an educational context providing the basis to progress to a wide variety of careers and or further professional development.

Our undergraduate degree programmes are focused on developing knowledge and practice across the range of careers involving working with children and young people in educational contexts. Postgraduate Courses

Our postgraduate portfolio has been designed to give our students a competitive edge in the employment market. We have liaised with our colleagues in practice to understand the needs, requirements and challenges that they face and have created a range of professional, and relevant post-graduation training to reflect these needs. These include PGCE Primary Education and PGCE Secondary Education (over 20 specialisms) and a diverse range of taught Masters programmes.

Professional Development

We offer a wide range of multi-disciplinary, professional training and career development courses across all sectors of education. Our programmes are delivered on a flexible, modular basis and can be taken as stand-alone units, short courses or can be taken to form part of a wider master’s or post-doctoral qualification.

We also provide a programme of tailored professional development to meet the learning needs of your organisation. This can be delivered at Manchester, Cheshire or on site.

Research Degrees

With over 100 postgraduate research students, the Faculty offers a lively research community, providing the opportunity to develop research skills and undertake focused study of a specialist area with individual supervision. We offer a range of research degrees at Masters, Doctoral and PhD level.
