Head down to Manchester Central Library and take over the building for a day of performances, open mic MC-ing, animation, poetry slamming, graphic novels, quizzes, indoor pool, live music and more.

Wordsmith showcase - poet Chris Jam and author Alex Wheatle MC open mic sessions
Matters Over Minds - join three of today's hottest YA authors for a panel discussion on mental health: Siobhann Curran, Juno Dawson and Non Pratt
Festival patron Curtis Jobling launches his new Max Helsing: Monster Hunter series - “Percy Jackson meets Dracula in this action-packed monster-hunting series!”
Presented in partnership between the Manchester Children's Book Festival, Manchester Libraries and the Youth Libraries Group, with support from Greater Manchester Higher.
ENTRY TO TAKEOVER IS FREE - just drop in any time from 12.00-4.30pm. Some of the performances and sessions will have limited places - please see the individual listings in our "What's On" guide to book and guarantee your seats. Priority entry will be given to those who have pre-booked tickets.
