Business Support

We support the needs of the Estates and Facilities Departments and also offer additional services for the benefit of the wider University.

Temporary ID cards

Temporary ID cards are issued to those who are working at the University on a temporary basis for a period of four weeks or more, such as visiting lecturers or contractors.

A temporary ID will provide you with basic IT and Wi-Fi access at the University as well as

Please note: you will be reqired to log-in with your Manchester Met ID and password to request temporary cards.

If you are a permanent member of staff and need to replace your ID card, please contact HR who will be happy to assist.

 

Temporary ID letters

If you have a visitor who will be unaccompanied on the MMU campus for between one day to four weeks, they will require a formal letter of identification.

Please ensure you have arranged for any visitors who will be unaccompanied to be issued with an identification letter for the duration of their time at MMU. To request a letter of identification, please complete the Temporary ID Request form‌ and email it to businesssupport@mmu.ac.uk.

Please give a minimum of 3 working days notice for the creation of temporary identification.

Room bookings for Ormond Building

We manage the room booking system for the following meeting rooms:

  • Boardroom
  • Council Chamber
  • Ormond Room One
  • Ormond Room Two

To check availability, please contact us on ext. 3665. To make a booking for any of these rooms, please complete the ‌Ormond Room Booking Form and email it to businesssupport@mmu.ac.uk.

Key & Lock Requests

Please complete the Key & lock request form and return by post to the address on the document.

Please ensure that if you are making multiple requests then you use 1 form per request and the budget code is included.

Updating Staff Information

Our aim is to ensure contact information for Estates and Facilities staff is accurate and up to date at all times.

To help us do this, please complete the Updating Staff Information form to let us know about changes to staff contact details – this could be new starters and leavers, changes to contact numbers or amendments to your organisational chart.

Digital Literacy

The Digital Literacy Team are offering a full programme of courses and drop-in sessions to help staff at Manchester Met enhance their digital skills running to July 14th 2017. Look out for their summer and start of term programmes coming soon.

No experience is necessary; simply sign up, turn up and learn something new. If you need something different, the team can design a bespoke training session.
