Academic and professional qualifications

I am a Lecturer specialising in fashion brand communications. I hold a BA (Hons) Design Studies and Journalism for Univeristy of Salford and a post-graduate degree in Education from the University of Bolton, PGDE(M).

Previous Employment

My industry background is in marketing communciations for digital and multichannel retailers. In previous roles with boohoo.com, I worked across brand marketing including conceptualising content and creative marketing outputs and executing multichannel and outdoor campaigns. I have also worked in the fashion fascias division at JD Sports Fashion and in menswear brands at the N Brown Group. 

Undergraduate teaching

I teach students across BA Fashion Promotion and BA Fashion Communication. I have held unit leadership roles across all levels of undegraduate study, specialising in marketing communications related subjects. 

Units I have led include:

Consumer Journey (customer journey mapping, UX, customer experience)

Marketing Analytics (digital marketing, CRM) 

Fashion Promotion 2 (international markets, global consumer, content stratgey, social media)

Visual Communciation 2 (branding, brand strategy, concept creation and realisation)

Brand Marketing & Communications (brand development, concept generation, visual communciation)

I also supervise final year BSc. Fashion Business & Management students on their final major project in developing their own start-up business concepts. I have developed live projects with external parters to enrich the student experience and ensure students are exposed to the latest industry practice.

IFFTI 2019 Non Paper Exhibition - The Impact of the Influencer

Audio visual research presented as a series of short interview films investigating the role and use of fashion influencers. Interviewees included fashion editors, brand directors, fashion influencers and bloggers. This research was in collaboration with Laura Costin (Manchester Metropolitan University) and exhibited at IFFTI 2019.
