The North West hosts a wealth of poets, and critics writing on poetry, including Carol Ann Duffy, Robert Sheppard, Deryn Rees-Jones, Paul Farley, Scott Thurston, John Redmond and Tony Sharpe. Based on the model of the Nineteenth-Century Literature seminar currently run from MMU, this network will invites scholars from the region to discuss their recent work. The focus will be on critical work with integrated creative readings; we are particularly interested in postgraduate critics and young poets being involved in the future. The network meets twice a year, with the possibility of future events taking place in a variety of locations across the North West: the University of Manchester and the University of Salford have offered to host events in 2016.
