Public Services at Manchester Metropolitan University emphasises work-based learning alongside a programme of progressive research and teaching that prepares students for work in organisations such the police, fire and prisons services, local council authorities and housing associations as well as private sector organisations that provide government services on a for- and non-profit basis.
The programme is particularly strong in highlighting the interconnectedness of the local with the global and students have as part of the curriculum the opportunity to pursue studies in comparative governance with partner institutions in Europe and the United States.
