My interest in history was developed when, as a mature student I read history at MMU. I undertook a PhD in twentieth century British history which focused on the development of the women's movement in the interwar period. I enjoy walking my dog, gardening, going to the gym and playing drums in a local band.
I really enjoy teaching, history is such a dynamic discipline it affords us the opportunity to assess the past with the present in mind, it is about human behaviour and interaction. A good degree can provide many career opportunities and through my teaching I seek to inspire students to achieve the best they can from their university experience.
Well as you are taking a degree in history - read and then read some more!
Lots of energy and enthusiasim are the key in my classes, I encourage all to have a view within a respectful and engaging environment.
