1. What were your lecturers like and how did they help you to succeed throughout your course?

All my lecturers were inspiring, and all brought their own individual personality into the lectures and seminars. My dissertation supervisor was supportive, and I felt encouraged and helped all the way.

2. Did you complete a placement, or have you taken part in any extracurricular activities/projects alongside your studies?

I joined a RISE at Manchester Met project, and I also used the study skills session and 1-2-1 with an adviser about starting my dissertation. I recently entered the Ideas Festival with an idea I had developed at home - I got to the final 6 and I am now trying to develop my idea further.

3. What skills do you feel you have gained/developed during your studies at Manchester Met?

I have developed critical writing and thinking skills. I feel empowered to try new things and not to be shy about asking for help or expressing my ideas.

4. Did you choose to get language teaching experience at the university?

My language teaching was exceptionally good, which I will use for travel and social events.

5. Is there anything else you would like to tell us about?

Although I entered university later in life after having a career, I am now ready for my next career and excited as to what I can achieve next. Learning is life long and opens so many doors if you are willing to seek them out.
