Your password is the key to your email, your Wi-Fi connection and your personal data, as well as anything else you want to keep safe in the electronic world.
We have a number of defences in place to prevent unauthorised access to all these things at Manchester Metropolitan, but once someone has your password, those defences become irrelevant. This is why it's extremely important that you keep your password to yourself, that you make it 'strong' and that you reset it regularly.
Changing your password can be done by logging into a computer on the University network:
· Press Ctrl+Alt+Del
· Choose 'Change a password...'
· Fill in the form as indicated
If you’ve forgotten it all together? Not to worry, just use our Self Service Password Reset (SSPR) Portal.
You’ll need to register - although most staff and students have already done this – so all you need to do is use it!
Don’t worry if you can’t remember, you’ll get a message saying you need to register if you haven’t done so in the past.

Obviously you’re thinking – I’m locked out so how can I?! You can easily access the portal via your University device login page through the ‘Forgot your password?’ link. If you've got your MyMMU logged in too then you can also access the portal via MyMMU in the Account tile – take a look now!
