Dependant on how you are employed by MMU, there are different ways in which you are required to view and apply for jobs.
To view and apply for jobs you need to log in to the myHR portal as it contains both external and internal vacancies (which are not displayed on the main careers website).
It is also much quicker to apply, as many of the fields are pre-populated for you from the data we hold in the HR system.
At present, the myHR portal is only accessible whilst connected to the MMU Network. The University is currently working on enabling remote access to myHR for all staff and this will be available by the end of November 2014.
At present, casual and sessional staff don’t have access to myHR, and therefore cannot apply for jobs online. You can still view externally advertised vacancies on the Careers website, however if you are interested in viewing the internal vacancies, you will need to email the Resourcing team from your MMU email address, and ask to be added to the internal vacancies bulletin distribution list.
You will receive an e-mail each time an internal vacancy is added, which will include the relevant application form to use and any relevant guidance. Unfortunately, we are unable to manage individual job preferences at this time.
To apply for external and internal vacancies, sessional and casual contract staff need to submit their applications via email to the Resourcing team using the application form provided. Please do not register as an external candidate.
You are also eligible to apply for internal vacancies. If you are interested in viewing the internal vacancies, you will need to email the Resourcing team from your MMU email address, and ask to be added to the internal vacancies bulletin distribution list.
If you wish to apply for an internal vacancy, you should submit the application, sent to you with the vacancy, via email to the Resourcing team.
We really encourage online or electronic applications where possible; however, we will continue to accept hard-copy applications from those staff unable to complete them because of IT access issues.
Because application forms are now specific to the vacancy, there will no longer be a generic form available on the web and you should therefore contact the Resourcing team, who will provide the relevant application and guidance.
If you are having a technical issue, such as being unable to log in to the system, you should contact the IT helpline on 4646.
For any queries about how to fill in the application itself, or about the recruitment process in general, please contact the Resourcing team.
