Apply for a Manchester Law School Scholarship

We are pleased to announce that we are offering scholarships for the GDL, LPC and BPTC courses starting in September 2017. Please see details below of the scholarships we offer at Manchester Law School and how to apply.

Graduate Diploma in Law

  • 3 scholarships of £2000 each towards your tuition fees
  • Apply by midnight on the 31st August 2018, once you have accepted your place and paid your deposit
  • Successful students will be notified in the first week of September 2018

Legal Practice Course

The scholarship information for 2018 will be announced soon. 

Bar Professional Training Course

BPTC Scholarships are open to candidates for the BPTC and the LLM in Legal Practice at the Bar (combined LLM/BPTC).

  • 1x £4000
  • 2x £3000
  • 2x £1000

Applications for scholarship are based on your application to the course, there is no additional form to complete. To be considered for scholarship, you must place Manchester Metropolitan University as your first or second choice provider in the first round of applications (ends Wednesday 17th January 2018).

If you are considered for scholarship, you will be notified when offers are released on Wednesday 7th March 2018. You will then be invited to attend a scholarship interview on Wednesday 21st March 2018. Assessment will be based on your BPTC application and interview.

LLM programmes - Postgraduate Loan

You may be eligible to apply for a postgraduate loan via the Postgraduate Loan Scheme from the UK government, if you choose to study one of the following eligible LLM courses: 

  • LLM in Legal Practice at the Bar (combined LLM/BPTC) full-time
  • LLM in Legal Practice (Full Award) (combined LLM/LPC) full-time or part-time
  • The LLM (TAUGHT) part-time or full-time
