The Mother Tongue Other Tongue North West competition has published the work of hundreds of young people since it was launched in 2012 as a North West pilot. We celebrate young people’s work in a variety of ways, through events, exhibitions and anthologies. Some examples of this, including the 2023, 22 and 21 anthologies can be seen below. Copies of these were presented to winning entrants at summer celebration events.
In 2024, we plan to do things a little differently. We will still invite all schools or groups with winning entrants in to celebrate their students’ work at events in July 2024. This year, though, the focus will be on writer development and on the presentation of work as a series of posters, postcards and recordings. Further details will be posted to co-ordinating teachers and group leaders nearer the time but, in the meantime, please SAVE THE DATE: Thursday 18 July 2024.
