MMES Film Night - Tawai: A voice from the forest

Z-arts

Manchester Metropolitan's Environmental & Geographical Society will be holding our first film night at Z-Arts in Hulme, screening the documentary by Bruce Parry: Tawai.

This will be a FREE event in a 250 capacity theatre, with a complimentary drink for the first 80 attendees.

We'll be joined by representatives of Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth and Hulme Community Garden Centre for you to have a chat with and find out what sorts of things they have going on around the city.

Afterwards we'll be sticking around for a little bit to chat and potentially move to a pub, so come along for a nice little social to start off the term.

"Tawai is the word the nomadic hunter gatherers of Borneo use to describe their inner feeling of connection to nature. In this dreamy, philosophical and sociological look at life, explorer Bruce Parry travels the world to learn from people living lives very different to our own. From the jungles of Malaysia to the tributaries of the Amazon, TAWAI is a quest for reconnection, providing a powerful voice from the heart of the forest itself."
