Learn how First Generation will transform lives

A complete student journey of support

Bright young people are already benefiting from the First Generation campaign that nurtures individuals to become the first generation in their family to go to university.

It transforms the lives of students with real academic merit by helping them to secure an undergraduate place at Manchester Metropolitan University, then providing continued financial, professional and personal support throughout their studies and into their careers.

The result for aspirational young people is a scheme that breaks down barriers before, during and after university, while the result for Manchester and the UK is that talent is unlocked, potential is achieved and lives are changed.

First Generation is inspiring visionary people from across the region – staff, students, alumni, businesses and partners – to generously support the campaign with donations towards the £1million target and by volunteering to provide professional support to students on the scheme.

Watch the video below to hear Vice-Chancellor Professor Malcolm Press, Pro-Chancellor Vanda Murray OBE and First Generation Ambassadors explain how First Generation will transform the lives of young people and how you can get involved.
