Student Volunteering Week

Monday 20 – Sunday 26 February.

Celebrate Student Volunteering Week by sharing your student volunteering stories with @VolunteeringMMU or get involved with microvolunteering, foodbank collections and much much more! #SVW17 

Monday Meditation

Monday 20 February, 12.30pm-1pm at The Union MMU.

Take time out of your day to relax, remove stress and replace it with a dose of inner peace. 

National Student Employment Week

Tuesday 21 February and Wednesday 22 February, 2pm-3pm on Twitter.

As part of National Student Employment Week we are hosting live Twitter chats to offer CV support (Tuesday) and help you with interviews (Wednesday). If you’ve got a question, tweet @ManMetCareers or follow #NSEW for top tips!

Public Lecture

Tuesday 21 February, 4.30pm-6.30pm at the Business School.

How many people were at Trump’s inauguration? Two Manchester Metropolitan crowd scientists found themselves at the centre of a global news story, and will be sharing their story at this open lecture. 

Carbon Literacy Training

Wednesday 22 February, 1pm-5.30pm in Sandra Burslem.

Learn about the ways you can act on climate change and stand out from the crowd to employers by taking part in our Carbon Literacy Training for Students. You will receive a Carbon Literacy Certificate and the training will also count towards your MMU Futures Award. 

Mayoral Debate

Thursday 23 February, 5.30pm-7pm at The Union MMU.

The Debating Society are hosting a Mayoral Debate featuring the main candidates running to become the first elected Mayor of Greater Manchester. 

Reclaim the Night

Thursday 23 February, 7pm starting at Owens Park in Fallowfield.

Join the MMU bloc at Reclaim the Night! Students at Manchester Metropolitan and University of Manchester take to the streets in this bright and colourful march to say ‘NO’ to all forms of violence against women, street harassment and victim blaming. There will also be a pre-event and after party. 

A Night with Steve Barlett

Friday 24 February, 6.30pm-9.30pm at The Union MMU.

MMU Platform Sessions aims to inspire and motivate students by hosting successful figures from different fields of study to discuss their journeys. The next session welcomes Steve Bartlett, a 24-year-old British entrepreneur, public speaker and the CEO of an influential marketing agency Social Chain. 

The Oscars live at The Union

Sunday 26 February, 10pm-3am at The Union MMU.

Watch the Oscars live, complete with special movie themed food and cocktails!
