Give It, Don't Bin It

As we edge closer towards the end of the academic year, you’ll be starting to think about moving out of your current accommodation. Whether you live in uni halls or private accommodation, if you have any items, you no longer need – Give It, Don’t Bin It.

To make sure nothing ends up in landfill, we are working alongside Manchester City Council, The British Heart Foundation and Manchester Central Foodbank on the Give It, Don’t Bin It campaign.

You can play your part in helping to fund life-saving research, and help local people in food poverty, just by donating your unwanted items. This includes clothes, books, electricals and unopened, non-perishable food.

A single bag of donations can be worth as much as £14. It’s also great for the environment and helps you clear some space – win win!

What items can you donate?

For British Heart Foundation:

  • Clothing and paired shoes

  • Books

  • CD’s and DVD’s

  • Pans and crockery

  • Small electrical items such as kettles, toasters, and hair dryers
