How to Pay

As you complete your online enrolment, you will find displayed guidance notes and instructions, which are there to assist you.  We hope that the following information will also help you.

All course fees are payable before you start your course unless you are receiving sponsorship/funding from an employer (including Manchester Met), organisation, government agency or have arranged a loan to fund your course fees.

Or, if you are paying your own course fees you may be eligible to join our instalment scheme to pay in 3 instalments over the year, but you must arrange this plan before you start your course.

Paying my own fees in full

Pay now online

You should tick this box if you intend to pay either full or part of your fees during your online enrolment.

Secure payments can be made using a credit/debit card – we do not charge a fee for this.

Flywire (for EU and International students)

You should tick this box if you would like to pay your fees either in full, or by instalments, using Flywire (this is our preferred method of payment for EU and International students).

Flywire is a secure, quick and cost effective solution, allowing students to take advantage of preferential exchange rates and no international bank transfer charges.

Payments can be made from Non UK bank accounts or cards in local currency (most countries supported), whilst avoiding overseas bank charges and offering “best exchange rate guaranteed”

You can use Flywire to pay University deposits, tuition, accommodation and other fees. Flywire then transfers the payment to Manchester Met at no additional cost to you.

Flywire applies no charge to students paying fees using this facility.

Flywire applies no charges in respect of card refunds but will however apply a charge for bank refunds.

For further information go to www.mmu.flywire.com

I have already paid my fees

You should tick this box if you have already paid your own fees in full. You will need to indicate details of the payment(s) you have made or that have been made on your behalf.  Please include method of payment, amount, date of payment and the transaction reference number for payments made online.

You should ensure that you keep your email payment acknowledgement if you have made a payment using the online payment facility in case of any query. This acknowledgement includes a unique payment reference, which allows Manchester Met to track the payment.

Paying my own fees in instalments

Direct Debit

You should tick this box if you have already registered, or intend to register, to set up a Direct Debit mandate to pay all, or part, of your course fees.

If your course fees are in excess of £5,000, you must pay an initial minimum payment prior to the start of your course to be eligible to sign up to the University’s Direct Debit instalment scheme.  Initial payments can be made during your online enrolment by selecting ‘ Pay now online’ and inserting the amount you want to pay.

The direct debit facility during 2017-18 online enrolment is available until 10th October 2017.

Please note: The Direct Debit facility is only available for September start courses and is not available for any students who are not attending the full academic year. The above students should select the ‘Other (manual) instalment plan’ option and contact a member of the Finance Service Centre team on +44(0)161 247 1852 once they have received their invoice to discuss alternative instalment arrangements after their online enrolment.

You should not complete a Direct Debit mandate if you intend to apply for a tuition fee loan or grant to pay your tuition fee in full.

Recurring Card Payment

You should tick this box if you intend to pay your full fees by regular credit or debit card instalments. This facility by registering card details is an instruction, which allows Manchester Met to collect recurring card payments (debit or credit card) automatically for predefined amounts on set dates. This ensures your account is never overdue.

Please note: The recurring card payment instalment facility during online enrolment is only available for September start courses and is not available for any students who are not attending the full academic year. The above students should select the ‘Other (manual) instalment plan’ option and contact a member of the Finance Service Centre team on +44(0)161 247 1852 once they have received their invoice to discuss a manual recurring card payment plan.

If your course fees are in excess of £5,000, you must pay an initial minimum payment prior to the start of your course to be eligible to sign up to the University’s recurring card payment plan scheme.

Other (manual) instalment plan

If you would like to pay your fees in instalments, but are unable to set up either a Direct Debit or recurring card payment instalment plan online at this point, then other instalment options may be available.

If your course fees are in excess of £5,000, you must pay an initial minimum payment prior to the start of your course to be eligible to sign up to the University’s instalment plan scheme. Fees can be paid online, during or after your enrolment session using a debit/credit card at www2.finance.mmu.ac.uk/students or, alternatively, payments can be made at any Finance Service Centre.

After your course start date, you will receive an invoice to your Manchester Met student email address. When you receive this invoice, please contact the Finance Service Centre on +44(0)161 247 1852 to discuss and agree your instalment plan.

An employer or sponsor is paying my fees

Employer or Sponsor

You should tick this box if your employer or sponsor is paying all, or part, of your course fees.

The University can only accept companies, overseas embassies, or other organisations (such as schools, councils, or the NHS) as sponsors. If a friend or family member is paying your fees, please choose a different payment method option.

If we have not received your employer/sponsor letter or email, you will need to indicate the name of your employer/sponsor during your enrolment and send this documentation to the University as soon as possible. We are not able to charge fees to your employer/sponsor without their written consent.

You must submit documentation from your employer/sponsor confirming their intention to pay unless otherwise informed during your online enrolment. If we do not receive this documentation you will be responsible for the payment and will receive an invoice accordingly.

Please note if you are on an apprenticeship course we will already be aware of your funding arrangements which will be displayed to you during your online enrolment.

Any other method

Any other method

You will need to select this method if your fees will be paid by any of the following payment methods.

  • Professional Career Development Loan
  • US Financial Aid
  • Advanced Learner Loan
  • Any Other Method

If you select a Professional Career Development Loan, you will need to contact our Finance Service Centre on +44(0)161 247 1852 to provide a copy of your schedule of payments after you have enrolled and received your fee invoice.  This will allow the University to update your account with the instalment dates, and will prevent your fees from becoming overdue.

If you select US Financial Aid, staff from our International Office will let us know how much and when your aid will be received.

If you select ‘Any other method’ you will be asked to provide additional information and advised to contact our Finance Service Centre once you have received your invoice to agree your payment method.
