Our Funders

The development of Q-Step emerged from a ‘strategic response’ to counter the deficit of quantitatively skilled social science graduates.

The £19.5m invested in the Q-Step programme aims to make a ‘step-change’ in ensuring that graduates leave higher education quantitatively skilled and able to respond to the needs and demands of contemporary social life and the UK economy.  One of the largest funding partnerships of recent times, the Nuffield Foundation, the Economic and Social Research Council and the Higher Education Funding Council for England came together to funded 15 UK universities to establish the Q-Step Centres.
