Faculty SAS (Faculty SAS) is responsible for the development and delivery of academic administrative services to students and staff across the University.
It is structured around five faculty-based administrations, each of which is led by a Head of Faculty SAS and comprises a Learning and Teaching Group and a Management Services Group.
Service enhancement, both to students and to the academic community, is fundamental to everything we do and informs our strong culture of continuous improvement and customer-focussed delivery.
The development and enhancement of strong and effective partnership working with the faculties that we support is the cornerstone of the Faculty SAS operation. We also collaborate closely with other SAS and central departments to facilitate the delivery of institutional strategic objectives.
The Heads of Faculty Student and Academic Services and the Faculties they support are:
The Learning and Teaching Group provides professional support to students who are enrolled on academic programmes and to the academic staff who lead and deliver those programmes. Its primary focus in the discharge of this role is to improve and enhance the MMU student experience across the whole of the student lifecycle from induction through to graduation.
The Management Services Group provides strategic and executive support for Deans, Heads and other senior academic managers, together with a range of services that underpin key faculty planning processes. The work of the Group has a particular focus on management information, data quality and quality assurance/enhancement. It also provides support for research student administration and all aspects of research and knowledge exchange activity.
