    I am a registered Social Worker and have been Professor of Social Work at Manchester Metropolitan University since 2011. I have a wealth of experience in practice, working across Children’s and Family services as a Social Worker, Team Manager, Service Manager and Assistant Director before moving into academia.

    I have recently been invited to lead a team of MMU researchers on several projects:

    A joint sequential mioxed methods project with Sussex university and New York University examing the characteristics of Social Work Acdemics, their practice backgrounds, research expereince and how balance practice relevance with academic research. (JUC SWEC funded)

    A £103,000 research initiative to look at how organisations such as the police, social workers and health professionals can work more effectively to identify a range of services that can be offered to people at risk to enable them to remain safe” (NIHR SSCR funded)
