Tim graduated with a degree in Chemistry with European Studies from The University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne (2000), which included a placement year in the Lavoisier Research Institute in Versailles, France. This was followed by a PhD, in Physical Chemistry, at Southampton University, completing a thesis entitled 'Electrodeposition of mesoporous nanostructured type II-VI semiconductor materials' (2006). Tim continued in academia as the Academic-Industrial lecturer in Chemistry at University of Huddersfield and subsequently as a postdoctoral research assistant at University College Cork, Ireland (2009).
Tim's teaching career has also led him to acheive QTS status from Kirklees and Calderdale SCITT (2013), his NQT from Bradford City Council (2014), and more recently HEA fellowship status after completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Development (in Higher Education) at The University of Huddersfield (2016).
