In 2008 I shifted from a successful career in the corporate world to academia in pursuit of my passion for the fields sustainability and social equity.
Today I am a lecturer and researcher at the Centre for Aviation Transport and Environment. Here I have gained expertise in a number of fields, namely: sustainable aviation, airport noise, airport, airport surface access, carbon management, circular economy and sustainable business model innovation.
As well as conducting world-leading research, I also have a passion for science communication and engagement with non-academic audiences. I have worked with a wide range or corporate facing clients. I host a sustainability networking event called Green Drinks Manchester. I am a STEM Ambassador. I host ad-hoc events as they arise.
I am excited to begin the next phase of my career in which I hope to find pragmatic and practical solutions to the many externalities presented by the aviation industry.
I am interested in the communication and dissemination of research as my field (sustainability) has the potential to make a marked impact on society and our ability to overcome the grand societal challenges we all face. In 2017 I taught on the award-winning Sustainable Production and Consumption unit and am enjoying my learning experience in becoming a proficient and passionate educator.
