Biography
Creative Writing Lecturer (BA and MA)
The person who has known me longest – my best friend since school, described me as quiet and slow-moving. Which I think is fair enough!
Outside of work I love yoga, swimming, and looking after my allotment!

Be patient: becoming the kind of writer you want to be takes time and it can take even longer for the publishing world to get round to your point of view!
Academic and professional qualifications
My doctoral research was into political fiction of the 1930’s, focussing specifically on Lewis Grassic Gibbon’s A Scots Quair. I also have a professional interest in medieval literature and history.
Teaching
Why do I teach?
Basically I allow my students to teach me. Always more enlightening.
