About My Course

My Business teacher in school was a brilliant teacher and person who inspired me to become motivated in my school work, especially Business. These are qualities I would like to bring to the classroom myself. Also, I truly believe Business is an important subject which helps to prepare young adults for Industry.

After completing a degree in Business Management & Marketing, a friend recommended Manchester Metropolitan University for my PGCE. I was looking for a university not too far from home and Manchester Met was the stand out choice. I chose the University-led (‘Core’) route because I believe it to be the more traditional method of Initial Teacher Training.

The main challenges of my PGCE have included dealing with the work load the course demands. However, by effective time management / commitment it has been more than do able and I am always feeling the benefit. Confidence has always been an issue of mine, but with the help of my mentors I am becoming more confident by the day.

I have aspirations to work abroad for a short period of time to experience teaching and learning in other cultures. However, my long term career aspirations include becoming a valued member of a UK school and taking on a pastoral role.
