The Government have launched a new postgraduate loan scheme for students wishing to enrol on a master’s programme.  Students can apply for a non-means tested loan of up to £10,000 to help you fund your studies. You will not need to make any repayments during your studies, and these repayments will be based on your income to ensure they stay manageable.

Payment Options

The University wants you to have a great learning experience whilst studying at Manchester Met. Before you commence your studies there are a few finance options that we need to make you aware of:

You must pay your first module via the University preferred payment method called “Flywire”.

Flywire is a secure global payment portal offering the following options:

  • UK/EU students - online bank transfers, credit or debit card payments.
  • Overseas students - pay in your home currency from a bank account in your own country. Flywire offers a “best exchange rate guarantee” and no additional bank charges.

To pay your module go to the secure online Flywire portal: making sure that you include your student number, your Manchester Met email address and the name of the module that you are paying for in the text box provided.

Future Payments

Once you have made your first payment then the following options apply:

Self-Paying Students

If you are paying your own fees, you must pay each module at least 10 days before starting your next module (as each module runs concurrently).

You will be sent an email before you are due to commence each module, providing a dedicated web link to the Flywire Payment Portal. You will not be able to commence the next module until payment has been made in full.

Sponsored Students

If you are sponsored by an employer or another approved sponsor, then they must pay through Flywire at least 10 days before you start your next module. They must ensure that your unique student number is quoted with all payments.

If the sponsorship is withdrawn, you will be expected to pay any outstanding balances and future modules yourself.

All invoices and correspondence will still be sent to you.

Postgraduate Loan

England & Wales PG Loan: - You will be classed as a self-paying student and payments should be made through Flywire as indicated above

Northern Ireland / Student Awards Agency Scotland - Depending on the value of the loan awarded, you may need to pay some part your fees through Flywire (if you are not receiving a full loan). The loan amount will be paid direct to the University. You will then be advised how much you must pay directly to the University.

If funding is withdrawn for any reason by Student Finance, you will be expected to pay each module yourself.
