Learning is all around us.

From the way our minds develop to the way that society functions, education is an area alive with different paths and possibilities. The way that education moulds young minds and impacts not only what we learn, but how we learn it, is fundamental in understanding the place of education in our communities and in society.

On our courses you will learn what it means to educate and be able to progress into roles delivering education across a range of settings and age groups. You’ll explore theories about childhood, education and learning. You’ll engage with debates about social inequality and social justice. You’ll discover psychological views on human development and how development and learning can be best supported. You’ll discover the philosophies and politics behind education and how education, and the lack of it, shapes our future.

Studying in the School of Education enables you to grow and experiment with your professional ambitions. Through exploration, practical experience and creative methods of assessment you will gain the knowledge and skills needed for a rewarding career.  You’ll be supported by the team to ensure you succeed academically and in your future professional life.
