Biography
Peter has 20 years’ research experience in a range of settings, including academia, the public and charitable sectors. He has a PhD from the Centre of Criminal Justice Studies at the University of Leeds. Much of his research in the last decade has focused on crime, violence, anti-social behaviour and youth crime. His PhD explored knife carrying among young people and influenced the government’s Violent Crime strategy.
Peter is a Research Associate on the Homicide Abuse Learning Together (HALT) project in the Department
of Nursing and Psychiatry, and is working on qualitative and quantitative analysis of domestic homicide reviews: https://domestichomicide-halt.co.uk/
He has also recently taken on the role of Managing Editor of the Probation Journal: https://journals.sagepub.com/home/prb
In his spare time, Peter runs an online support group for fathers in Leeds, teaches mindful movement classes, and is editor of a digital arts magazine.
