My profile

Biography

I am a reader at the Faculty of Education, Manchester Metropolitan University, since May 2016, where I develop research, teaching and external funding activities in the area of education. I achieved international recognition in the field of mathematics education, and I have been making a sustained and innovative contribution to knowledge, by publishing in high ranked journals and actively participating in the community’s research dynamics. My work involves collaboration with colleagues from different countries, and its relevance has led to invitations to give plenary talks at international conferences, to assume the leadership of a CERME thematic working group, and to organise courses in European and South-American higher education institutions. I have a significant network of international connections, and, in recent years, I have been extending my work into broader educational and social research arenas, through involvement in national and European funded projects. My teaching experience spans from primary schools to higher education, in various European and South American countries. I am a scholar of Lacan.
