Research outputs

I have been research active for more than 15 years (first academic paper published in 2005) and have contributed/produced 70 peer reviewed articles. I was the founder of a Paranormal film club 2007, followed by the first Paranormal Society in 2015 where we won the best new society at MMU awards. This student led paranormal group holds regular monthly meetings discusing current trends in anomalous/cognitive research, promoting student engagement and interest generating further avenues of research particpation.

My research areas include the following:

  • Cognition: perceptual processing, statistical processing, and memory
  • Parapsychology (anomalous experiences, general belief, parapsychology, conspiracy theories)

Other areas of interest are:

  • Older Adults & Neuropsychology (TBI/Head injuries/parkinson’s/epilepsy)
  • IQ/Intelligence and ability measurement/testing
  • Projective methods - Rorschach/thematic apperception tests
  • Learning Disabilities (spectrum disorders/autism/asperger’s)

I have previously presented at (2012/2014/2015/2016) RIHSC conferences; e.g., a presentation and poster entitled: “Reality testing, conspiracy theories, and paranormal beliefs”.

I have also presented regularly at the BIAL Foundation conference, Porto, Portugal on numeruous occasions (April 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018) where i have disseminated research findings via stage presentation/public discussion groups as well as deliver posters presentation regarding a variety of parapsychological topics including: Cognition, statistical bias, perceptual processing, anomalous belief and health and well being.

I am due to present at next years event 2022 (delayed because of the current pandemic) where i will outline findings from the current research project regarding the cognitive processing, nature and characteristics of both medium and psychic practitioners.
