Biography

Professor Ian Watson is a Visiting Professor with an interest in sport and exercise medicine as well as developing integrated primary healthcare working. He’s also a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners and has a sports medicine and musculoskeletal clinic with Pennine MSK (Musculoskeletal) Partnership.

Professor Watson joined Saddleworth Medical Practice in Oldham as a partner in 1997. Since then, he’s completed qualifications in sport and exercise medicine and become Associate Medical Director at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust and Director of Primary Care Performance at Pennine MSK Partnership Ltd.

And, Professor Watson has qualifications in outdoor, mountain and wilderness medicine. Which means he advises on medical matters for expeditions and in extreme environments, such as mountaineering and rock climbing.
