About my career

Studying at Manchester Metropolitan University gave me the opportunity to develop both analytical and critical thinking skills that I have carried with me throughout my career. I was taught to strive to achieve excellent client care, whilst upholding the highest of professional standards.

The Legal Practice Course covered many different areas within the industry, but I most enjoyed studying Family Law, not surprising given my field of practise currently! I really enjoy the human, social and anthropological aspect to the area, which really enables you to form a rapport with clients.

After graduating from the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at Manchester Metropolitan University, I worked as a Family Law Solicitor at a multi-discipline practice in Manchester. I am now a Managing Partner of Stowe Family Law’s central Manchester office. In my current role, I am responsible for the operation and development of my office in Manchester. I work to grow the office and its position as the best family law practice in the area.

My top tip for students is…

Never give up on finding that training contract, even it requires working as a paralegal for some time. Put in the hours, commitment and dedication and it will be rewarded and recognised.
